Randolph Fun Days Aug. 24-25

The annual Randolph Fun Days celebration will be held August 24 and 25 this year. Organizers have a wide variety of activities planned for the weekend and hope to see visitors from throughout the area join in the fun.


Starting at 8 a.m. and running to around 4 p.m., is a Wiffle Ball Tournament at the CityPark. This is co-ed, with eight players per team (5 guys/3 girls). Players must be 14 or older and will need a signed permission form if they are under 18.  The cost is $15 per person and players can sign up and pay at the park Saturday. Games will be 30 minutes in length unless there is a tie. This is a double elimination tournament. The first eight teams to sign up will play.

From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. visitors can enjoy a pancake breakfast at the Fire Station, with proceeds going to Randolph Fire and Rescue, or head over to the MethodistChurch for cinnamon rolls and coffee.

City-wide garage sales start at 8 a.m., and there will also be vendors downtown from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Both the RailroadDepotMuseum and the FerrellHouseMuseum will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Piston Poppers Car Show takes place downtown, starting at 9 a.m., and running until 2:30 p.m., with winners being announced at 2:30.

Visitors can tour the Randolph Library during their open house, and enjoy refreshments from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Children will enjoy the rock climbing wall and smoke room fire safety trailer located downtown from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lunch options include Maid-rites and chips at the Fire Station, or burgers, fries, funnel cakes, ice cream, kettle corn, etc. from food trucks located at the CityPark. Lunch will be available at both locations from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The parade takes place on Main Street at 1 p.m.

Kids Time at the CityPark is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and includes: bounce houses, airbrush tattoos, Life Net, balloon artist, kiddie train, and kids’ games, provided by the Randolph Library.

Food Trucks at the CityPark will reopen for business from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Randolph Nationals will be held at the CityPark from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This MATTPA points pull is hosted by Mid America Truck and Tractor Pullers Association. Admission is $10, and kids 5 and under get in free. Gates open at 5 p.m. and seating is limited, so bring chairs. There will be food vendors and a beer garden on site.

Immediately after the Nationals is a dance at the park, with music provided by Randolph’s Troy Housh.

The beer garden at the CityPark will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.


Enjoy a biscuits and gravy breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Fire Station, with proceeds going to Randolph Hometown Pride.

Big V’s Bubble Soccer Tournament will be held at the CityPark from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tournament takes place from 9-11 a.m. for kids 8 and up, and 1-3 p.m. for adults. Cost to play is $8 per person, and everyone is encouraged to form teams. (Hamster Wheels will be available for kids 3 and up.) Call Linda Heywood with questions at 712-625-3561 or 712-310-2022. Snack Foods and Drinks will be available from food trucks at the CityPark from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
