Well over 100 people enjoyed Fridays after Five on June 21 under a new shade cloth, a result of a significant community collaboration. Generous donations from The Greater Shenandoah Foundation, Rapp Trust, Kay M. Anderson Foundation and Shenandoah Medical Center made the project possible. McConkey Rentals, Nielsen Farms, Miller Building Supply and many volunteers contributed equipment, labor, and time to construct the structure. Fridays after Five will conclude on June 28 with Into the Gray, featuring Skinny Webb, with proceeds benefiting Nishna Productions. Fridays after Five is sponsored by the Shenandoah Elks Lodge, Wilson Insurance and Northwest Bank.

Sawyer and Jentry Lauman, who will be entering kindergarten and 4th grade, hosted a lemonade stand during a recent golf tournament at the Shenandoah Golf Course. Instead of keeping the proceeds, they donated nearly $500 to the Devin and Austin Barth family to help with expenses for their son Wilson Barth, a Shenandoah Elementary 2nd grader battling cancer.
