At the NATO summit in Turkey on Wednesday, July 8, President Donald Trump said Iran is trying to assassinate him, highlighting escalating U.S.–Iran tensions. He told reporters he is “No. 1 on the kill list for Iran” and said peace talks are “over,” remarks made after questions about not flying on the new Air Force One. Trump said the newer aircraft was sent to Royal Air Force Mildenhall and that he would depart on an older plane, without giving a clear reason. The video places his comments amid recent strikes near the Strait of Hormuz, retaliatory attacks, oil restrictions, and a fragile ceasefire.
