College football conference championship game picks

So it all comes down to this.

College Football Playoff berths will be on the line as the Power 5 leagues, and Group of 5, put on their conference championship games this weekend.

If they play out as expected, Georgia, Michigan, TCU and USC appear headed to the Final Four.

But if history has taught us anything about college football, it is to expect the unexpected.

Pac-12 championship Utah vs. USC

USC outlook

The Trojans (11-1) tuned up for this one by dropping Notre Dame, 38-27. Quarterback Caleb Williams ascended to the top of the Heisman Trophy odds by tossing for 232 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for three scores.

Running back Austin Jones churned out 154 rushing yards. Wideout Jordan Addison had a relatively quiet day with three catches for 45 yards.

The USC defense checks in at 91st nationally.

The Trojans are 8-4-0 against the spread. 

Utah outlook

The Utes (9-3) stomped Colorado, 63-21, last time out. QB Cam Rising passed for 234 yards and three touchdowns. 

RB Ja'Quinden Jackson struck for 117 yards and three TDs. WR Dalton Kincaid had 102 yards with a TD.

Utah is No. 17 in total defense.

The Utes are 7-5 ATS.
