The Clarinda and Shenandoah boys golf teams advanced to the Class 2A State Golf Championships at Monday's District Tournament in Shenandoah.
The Cardinals won the district title with a 306 while the Mustangs finished third with a 311, both qualifying for state, which is Tuesday, May 26 - Wednesday, May 27, in Waterloo.
This short chip shot from Shenandoah junior JJ Martin found the bottom of the cup to start a string of three straight birdies to start his round Monday, May 18, at the Class 2A District Tournament in Shenandoah. Martin recorded a 3-under par 67 to win the district title and advance to the state tournament.
