Scamman named unanimous first team all-Hawkeye 10, Wagoner also first team
Shenandoah sophomore Kalyn Scamman received one of four unanimous first team selections to the Hawkeye 10 Conference’s girls basketball all-conference team.
Clarinda senior Addison Wagoner was also a first team all-conference pick as the all-conference teams were released Friday, March 6, by the league.
Wagoner was one of three Clarinda athletes and Scamman, one of two from Shenandoah, to receive all-conference recognition.

Scamman averaged 22.3 points per game this season, tops in the Hawkeye 10 Conference, and added 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.2 assists per game in leading the Fillies to a 14-win season.
Scamman was joined as a unanimous first team selection by Elsa Tiefenthaler of Kuemper, Maggie McChesney of Glenwood and St. Albert’s Avah Underwood.

Wagoner led the Cardinals, scoring 12.9 points per contest. She added 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists each time out, leading Clarinda to a 14-win season.
Other first team selections were Creston’s Kadley Bailey, Atlantic’s Katrina Williams and Macie Vetter of Lewis Central.
Shenandoah freshman Ava O’Rourke and Clarinda senior Carsen Wellhausen earned second team recognition.

Clarinda senior Carsen Wellhausen fires from the free throw line during a home win Tuesday, Nov. 25, over Lenox. Wellhausen scored 11 points, all in the first half, in the win.
Wellhausen scored 6.2 points per game while leading the Cardinals with 9.2 rebounds and three blocks per contest. She led the conference and blocks and was second in rebounds.

O’Rourke averaged 12 points per game in her debut season for Shenandoah, and added 5.7 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.1 assists per contest.
Other second team selections were Lexie Pearce and Eleanor Coughlin of St. Albert, Kuemper’s Addy Anthofer and Kaylie Simons, Kenzley Bruck of Harlan and Atlantic’s Makenna Schroeder.
Clarinda’s Maddie Cole was one of 12 honorable mention all-conference selections.

Cole was second in scoring for the Cardinals at 9.7 points per game. She added 2.7 rebounds per contest.
Other honorable mention selections were Brooklynn Rutledge and Molly Wise of St. Albert, Ann Wessel and Sara Mun of Denison, Ellison Johnson of Red Oak, Maggie Smith of Glenwood, Brinley Van Baale of Harlan, Atlantic’s Zoey Kirchhoff, Creston’s Hollynn Rieck, Lewis Central’s Ellie Borns and Kuemper’s Charlotte Hackfort.
