Essex's Sholes named first team all-Corner Conference

Essex senior Isaiah Sholes ends his outstanding basketball career as a first team selection by the Corner Conference.
The Corner Conference released its all-conference boys basketball teams Monday, March 2.
Sholes was the only Essex athlete to earn all-conference honors while Sidney’s Calvin Johnson was an honorable mention selection and the only Sidney athlete recognized.

rebounds in the win.

Sholes finished the season, averaging 17.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.4 blocks per game. His 4.4 blocks were second best in Class 1A, and his rebounds numbers were 10th best in 1A.
Unanimous selections to the first team were Quentin Dalton of Bedford and Mason Camden of East Mills.
The other first team picks were Sawyer Forney of Fremont-Mills, Stanton’s Brodee Sowers and Bedford’s Hayden Riedel.
Hamburg’s Gabe Staley and Keith Thompson earned second team recognition, along with Cooper Hagen and Beau Burdic of East Mills, Anders Langille of Fremont-Mills and Bedford’s Camden Powell.

Johnson was an honorable mention pick, averaging 6.9 points and four rebounds per game for the Cowboys.
The other honorable mention selections were Tristan Elwood of Stanton, John Deemer of Bedford and Brayden Lockwood of Griswold.
