Shenandoah Girls Basketball
Kalyn Scamman scored 22 points and Ava O’Rourke added 14 as the Shenandoah girls basketball team pulled away in the third quarter Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Red Oak in a 60-40 win.
The Shenandoah lead was only 17-11 after the first quarter and 31-22 at halftime, but the Fillies outscored the Tigers 18-4 in the third period to put the game away.
Scamman added eight rebounds, four assists and two steals while O’Rourke finished with eight rebounds, four steals and two assists. Addie Estes reached double figures with 12 rebounds, while also recording four points and two steals.
Sloane McGinnis added nine points, three rebounds and two assists for the Fillies while Brynlee Cullin scored six points and Abbey Dumler finished with five. Lexi Laumann secured four rebounds.
Shenandoah vs. SidneyKalyn Scamman scored 25 points, leading the Shenandoah girls basketball team to a 54-23 home win Thursday, Dec. 11, over Sidney.
The Cowgirls scored most of their points in a high-scoring first quarter which ended with the Fillies up 23-16. Shenandoah pulled away from there, leading 40-18 at halftime and 50-19 after three quarters.
Scamman’s 25 points came on 10 for 18 shooting and included three 3-pointers. She added five rebounds, five steals and three assists.
Callie Bebout added 11 points for Shenandoah, including three rebounds. Sloane McGinnins recorded six points and four rebounds and Ava O’Rourke added five points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals.
Abbey Dumler scored four points and added four rebounds and two steals and Addie Estes contributed three points and five rebounds for Shenandoah.
Lexi Laumann recorded four rebounds and two steals for the Fillies, Brynlee Cullin added four steals and Susie Babe ended the night with two rebounds.
Alyssa Melvin led Sidney’s offense with eight points while Kaelynn Hale hit a pair of first quarter triples to score six.
Czandrya Morgan scored three points for Sidney while Addy Jimeson and Addy Foster finished with two points each. Kyla Spurlock and Averie Buttercase added one point each.
Fillies at Nebraska CityThe Shenandoah girls basketball team wrapped up a 3-0 week with a 45-32 win Friday, Dec. 12, at Nebraska City.
The Fillies won every quarter, leading 11-5 after the first period, 24-17 at halftime and 34-25 after three quarters.
Stats from the contest were not immediately available as the Fillies improved to 5-1 on the season.
