The second season of Men's Monday Night Golf League will begin July 20. A sign-up sheet is in the pro shop. A scramble format with the two-man teams will be tried for the first time this session. So, grab a partner and play to support the new format. The league will still be handicapped to be fair for all players. The league will run for eight weeks and start each Monday at 5:30 p.m.
The 31st annual Nishna Productions golf tournament held at the SGC on Thursday afternoon, July 9 was another big success! And the weather that afternoon was absolutely perfect! Proceeds from the tournament support NPI's Builders of Lives fund which will help make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
Upcoming events at the SGC include: 1) Page County Ryder Cup between Shenandoah and Clarinda on July 18-19. Play will be in Shenandoah on the 18th and in Clarinda on the 19th. 2) Another Bob Longman Memorial Youth Golf Tournament on Wednesday morning, July 22. 3) Four-gal Ladies Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 25. It's a scramble format with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $160 per team – call the pro shop at (712) 581-9057 to reserve a spot.
And how about something new? A “Sip and Swing” golf lesson for ladies will be held at the Sportsplex on Wednesday evening, July 25 from 6 – 7 p.m. There will be a 45-minute group lesson followed by a drink afterwards. Jay Soderberg is the instructor. Cost is $25 per person.
