Shenandoah sophomore Kalyn Scamman earned all-district recognition for the second straight year.
The Iowa Girls Coaches Association released its all-district teams in all five classes Wednesday, Feb. 25, with the state split into geographic districts for each class.
Scamman was one of 11 selections to the Class 3A Southwest District team, joining Hawkeye 10 Conference rivals Kadley Bailey of Creston and Elsa Tiefenthaler of Kuemper. There were four districts in Class 3A.
Scamman’s 490 points scored this season were most in Class 3A and 16th most in the state all classes. She added 165 rebounds, 55 steals and 49 assists in leading the Fillies to a 14-8 season.

Sidney junior Addy Foster earned second team all-conference recognition as the Corner Conference released its all-conference girls basketball teams Monday, Feb. 23.

Foster was one of four Sidney athletes, as well as one from Essex, who earned all-conference recognition.
Foster averaged 8.2 points per game for the Cowgirls, while adding 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 steals each time out.
East Mills’ Caitlyn Crouse and Aniya Hardee of Bedford were unanimous selections to the first team. The other four first team picks were Lana Alley and Brooklyn Weldon of Fremont-Mills, East Mills’ Ava Grindle and Piper French of Stanton.
Joining Foster on the second team were Amanda Houser and Carsyn Adams of Griswold, East Mills’ Loycee Palmer, Fremont-Mills’ Reese Gute and Bedford’s Caroline Simmons.

Essex freshman Piper Maher was an honorable mention selection. Maher finished the season averaging 2.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and three steals per contest.

King led the Cowgirls with nine points and 8.6 rebounds per contest. Dowling recorded 8.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and Melvin finished the year at 7.9 points and five rebounds.
Emmy Matheson of Hamburg also received honorable mention recognition.
