SIOUX CITY — The owner of a Sanborn, Iowa, cheese plant is suing the City of Sanborn and a water tower contractor because it had to discard nearly $4 million worth of cheese after shards of sandblasting aggregate contaminated the plant's water supply.
A crew from Reding's Gravel and Excavating of Algona lays a water pipe at the Associated Milk Producers Inc. cheese plant in Sanborn, Iowa, as part of the company's expansion in June 2017. The company is suing the city of Sanborn and a water tower contractor because it says shards of sandblasting aggregate contaminated the city's water and ruined more than 1 million pounds of cheese.
