Shenandoah, Sidney to host postseason girls golf tournaments

The Shenandoah and Sidney girls golf teams open the postseason on their home course.
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the regional golf pairings Wednesday, May 6, for all classes.
First round regional tournaments take place Friday, May 15, in Classes 2A and 1A.
Shenandoah and the Shenandoah Golf Course host the Class 2A Region 3B Tournament with Clarinda joining the Fillies in the field, along with Interstate 35, Missouri Valley, Red Oak, Treynor, Underwood and West Central Valley.
Qualifiers from the Shenandoah regional advance to the Region 3 Final Wednesday, May 20, at Lincoln Valley Golf Course, hosted by West Marshall.
Shenandoah regional qualifiers are joined by Roland-Story regional qualifiers at West Marshall. Teams at the Roland-Story regional are Grand View Christian, Grundy Center, Ogden, PCM, Pleasantville, Roland-Story, Van Meter and West Marshall.
Sidney and the Fremont County Golf Course host the Class 1A Region 2C Tournament. The Cowgirls are joined in the field by East Mills, East Union, Griswold, Hamburg, Lenox, Southwest Valley and St. Albert.
Qualifiers from the Sidney regional advance to the Region 2 Final Wednesday, May 20, at Crestwood Hills Golf Course, hosted by CAM.
Qualifiers from the Boyer Valley and Tri-Center regional tournaments also advance to CAM for the regional final. Teams at those two tournaments are ACGC, AHSTW, Audubon, Boyer Valley, CAM, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Earlham, Glidden-Ralston, IKM-Manning, Logan-Magnolia, Newell-Fonda, Nodaway Valley, Riverside, Tri-Center, West Monona, Westwood and Woodbine.
The Girls State Golf Tournaments are scheduled for Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29, with the Class 2A tournament at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown and the Class 1A Tournament at the Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.
