Shenandoah senior Logan Twyman was one of seven unanimous selections to the Hawkeye 10 Conference All-Conference Baseball teams, released Thursday, July 16, by the conference.
Clarinda junior Ryan Wagoner also earned first team honors as one of five Clarinda Cardinals to earn all-conference recognition. Twyman was one of four from Shenandoah to make the all-conference team.

Twyman struck out 53 batters over 35 innings this year for the Mustangs, posting a 1.60 ERA over six starts. With the bat, he hit .259, and was on base at a .412 mark, finishing with 14 runs and 10 RBIs.
Twyman was joined as a unanimous first team selection by Blake Fort and Brooks Bond of conference champion Lewis Central. Denison’s Cole Kastner and Owen Galvin, Creston’s Thomas Mikkelsen and Colton Schneider of Harlan were also unanimous picks.
There were an additional nine athletes from across the conference that also earned a place on the first team, including Wagoner.

Wagoner hit .400 for the Cardinals this season and was on base at nearly a .600 mark. Four of his 20 hits went for extra bases with a home run, two triples and one double. He scored 13 runs and drove in 16. He started the season as the team’s primary catcher. But after missing some time with an injury, served as designated hitter for the rest of the season.
Other first team selections were Harrison Kjergaard, Jonas Reynolds and Foxx Argotsinger of Harlan, Caden Nepple and Owen Duffek of Lewis Central, Kuemper’s Landon Pottebaum, Atlantic’s Kale Jensen and Tanner Ray of Creston.
Clarinda’s Nolan Wagoner, Kort Neal and Jordan Butt all earned a place on the second team, along with Tyler Babe and Teagan Brunk of Shenandoah.

Brunk struck out 38 over 31 1/3 innings on the mound, finishing 4-2 with a 2.01 ERA. He also hit .369 for the season with 24 hits, including six doubles, a triple and two home runs, 13 runs and 20 RBIs.

Babe led the Mustang bats with a .372 average, ending the year with a team-high 29 hits, including five doubles, one triple and one home run, driving in 24. He scored 15 times and was also the team’s primary catcher.

Butt and Neal were the top two pitchers for Clarinda. Butt struck out 46 with a 1.97 ERA over 39 innings in seven starts. Neal pitched 31 1/3 innings, striking out 20 with a 2.23 ERA in eight appearances, five starts. He also recorded a save.

At the plate, Butt hit .254 with 17 hits, including three doubles and two home runs. He scored 13 times and drove in 13. Neal batted .240 with three doubles, a triple and a home run as part of his 13 hits. He drove in 13 and scored 13.

Nolan Wagoner led Clarinda with 31 hits and 26 runs at the top of the Cardinal lineup. He hit .333 for the season with four doubles, two triples and 15 RBIs. His 17 stolen bases were most on the team.
Other second team selections were Drew Heller, Charlie Schaben, Ayden Buckles and Brody Burroughs of Lewis Central, Max Koehler and Ben Carlo of Glenwood, Harlan’s Gavin Eck and Cade Nelson, Brenden Vonnahme and Ben Cook of Kuemper and Denison’s Ryan Slechta.
Shenandoah’s Carter Sells and Clarinda’s Creighton Bird earned honorable mention recognition.

Bird finished the season with a .353 average as he made his way to a top of the lineup hitter by the end of the season. He finished the year with 30 hits, including three doubles and one triple. He scored 18 runs and drove in 12.

Sells hit .366 for Shenandoah with 26 hits, including three home runs and three doubles. He scored 20 runs and drove in 17. He was the primary shortstop for the Mustangs.
Other honorable mention selections were Carson Roeder and Cale Hall of Red Oak, Camdyn Nemitz and Roman Bygness of Denison, Brady McDonald and Landyn Scherer of Creston, Gavin Sisson and Jacob Spangenberg of Harlan, Cael Yrkoski and Benny Johnson of St. Albert, Glenwood’s Benn Christiansen, Kuemper’s Noah Reiman and Atlantic’s Jack Muller.
